Candace King Weir
President and CEO
Candace King Weir founded CL King & Associates in 1972. As President and CEO of one of the first woman-owned broker/dealer FINRA-registered firms, she has directed the growth and development of CL King into a well-respected institutional research boutique.
Ms. Weir began her career in 1968 as an associate in corporate finance with Blyth and Co., leaving in 1972 to form CL King & Associates. In 1984, CL King began managing money for high net-worth clients and successful entrepreneurs. Ms. Weir also founded Paradigm Capital Management, Inc., in 1994, to assume the investment advisory business of CL King. She serves as Director, President and Chief Investment Officer for Paradigm Capital Management.
Peter E. Bulger
Senior Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Bulger is the Chief Operating Officer of CL King & Associates, having joined the firm in 1992.
Prior to coming to CL King, Mr. Bulger was the Vice President/Director of Compliance and Operations at First Albany Corporation. He also served as Vice President and Senior Litigation Analyst at Shearson Lehman.
He holds a BS in Economics from SUNY Albany and a MBA from Fordham University.
Robert A. Benton
Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Benton joined CL King in February 2001, as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining CL King, he was the Director of Finance for the Electronic and Technology Services lines of business at KeyCorp. During his career at KeyCorp, which began in 1986, he held a number of positions in finance at both the corporate and line of business levels. Before joining KeyCorp, Mr. Benton was with KPMG.
He holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from the University of Vermont and is a CPA.
Mitch Meisler
Managing Director, Director of Institutional Sales
Mitch Meisler joined CL King in 2005 as a Senior Vice President and Research Sales Director. Mr. Meisler was previously managing director in the capital markets division at C.E. Unterberg, Towbin, where for over six years he served in numerous roles, including Director of Institutional Sales, Director of Strategic Planning, Research and Associate Research Director, Manager of the Private Client Group, Operations Manager and institutional salesperson. He was previously affiliated with PaineWebber, Ernst & Company and Lehman Brothers.
Mr. Meisler is a graduate of the State University of New York Binghamton and received his MA from New York University.
Jim Barrett
Managing Director, Director of Research
Jim Barrett joined CL King & Associates in January 2002, and was promoted to Director of Research/Senior Vice President in 2005. Jim's research focuses on special situations with an emphasis on building materials companies. Prior to working on Wall Street, he spent eleven years in consumer marketing, most recently with Joseph E. Seagram & Sons.
As an analyst, Jim was recognized by The Wall Street Journal in its 2007 "Best on the Street" survey. He has also achieved "All Star" recognition by Zacks and has been ranked among top analysts in the Reuters CFO survey. He is a graduate of the University of Rochester and holds an MBA in Marketing from Columbia Business School.
Vincent Kenney
Managing Director, Director of Institutional Trading
Mr. Kenney joined CL King in January of 2005 as the Director of Equity Trading. Prior to coming to CL King, Mr. Kenney was Managing Director and Head of Equity Trading at Needham & Co., Inc. He also served as Head of NASDAQ Trading at Gerard Klauer and Mattison.
He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Business Administration from Rutgers University.
Jeff Maier
Managing Director, Professional Investor Services
Jeff Maier joined CL King in 2007 as Managing Director of Professional Investor Services, focusing on Prime Brokerage, RIAs and Broker Dealers. Mr. Maier was Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Neuberger Berman in the Clearing, Prime Broker and Execution Services division. Previously, he was a managing director at both U.S. Clearing/Fleet Securities, and Newbridge Securities/Citigroup. After serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army, he started his career in the financial community at Wood Struthers & Winthrop.
Mr. Maier holds a BA in Communications and Spanish from Hofstra University.
